Bronze Consultancy Package

Bronze - Recommended for smaller traditional and unlisted masonry buildings

A masonry inspection will be carried out from ground level (or where alternative safe access allows) in order to identify and assess the masonry type and condition, and any problems or defects associated with it.

A brief written report will be prepared to explain the issues identified from the masonry inspection, to provide you with a better understanding of any problems or defects, and how these can be resolved. Our reports are written in plain English with any technical terms clearly explained.

Identification of problems and defects will always be building specific. Typical problems and defects could include moisture ingress leading to dampness or previous inappropriate repairs carried out using cement based mortars. Such issues will be identified and inspected with a view to providing advice on their appropriate repair.

A summary of recommendations will be provided based on the inspection and assessment of the relevant factors. Recommendations will be provided in summary form, as a list of actions (with priorities if appropriate or relevant) to make their interpretation as simple and understandable as possible.

Indicative masonry repair specifications may include a pointing or harling and limewashing specification, depending on the recommendations made. For example, for re-harling the indicative specifications would include a summary of the materials including a specified lime and sand type, mix ratios and number of coats (including thickness and finish).

LTM written estimate of costs. The information contained within the report, and any other relevant information will be provided to LTM’s respected masonry contracting division for pricing. This will be provided separately to the LTM Consultancy report.
