The Building Conservation Trainees will undertake the LTM Training Programme during their day-to-day participation in the company operational tasks. They should be enthusiastic and willing to learn and care for the workplace and surroundings. They should be comfortable in their ability to comply to or requests, clear instructions and training.
Training sessions will be delivered by their Project Leader and Trainees will be requested to transcribe in the form of Competency Training Sheets, a detailed summary of the delivered training sessions, for inclusion in their Portfolio.
An initial start up tool kit will be provided by LTM; however it will be the responsibility of the student to develop their hand tools until a satisfactory collection, essential for undertaking fine craftsmanship, is achieved. They should dress in and maintain, as clean as possible, the uniform and personal protective equipment issued by LTM.
Building Conservation Trainees should be developing their site duties, be economical and efficient and be organisationally sound. They should look to the health, safety and welfare of themselves and others around them, and have respect for the environment which they are working in.
The successful Building Conservation Trainee will be awarded the grade of Building Conservation Technician.
