Flt Lt Mick Cross and Sgt Murray McGregor from RAF Kinloss commissioned LTM to supply and install the memorial cairn on behalf of the client, the families of the servicemen. The final tetradecagon design was selected to represent the 14 servicemen; each base stone is inscribed with the name of one serviceperson, without rank and in random order as requested by the client. The client also selected to use local stone, Clashach sandstone (near Kinloss) for the body of the cairn and a black whinstone from Fyfe Glen Rock in Oldmeldrum (near Inverurie) for the base.

LTM would like to thank Springfield Properties for their assistance in installing the memorial cairn.
